Enviroment
The preservation of the fluvial and marine environment, especially when it comes to issues related to industrial enterprises, has gained significant importance in recent years as it can be seen from scientific studies about the progressive degradation of the environment of our planet. This raises the need to incorporate the concept of sustainability throughout new endeavours and those who are already fully operational. The concept of sustainability was first introduced by the Norwegian Gro Harlem Brundtland in her report to the UN "Our Common Future".
The World Commission on Environment and Development (World Commission on Environment and Development) was created in 1983 within the United Nations due to the growing concern over the deterioration of the environment and with the aim of preserving natural resources. This committee was better known as the Brundtland Commission.
The report was published in 1987 and introduced the concept of Sustainable Development which in few words states that the exploitation of natural resources should not compromise their use by future generations.
One consequence of this work was Agenda 21, whose summit was held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, within the framework of the UN Convention on Climate Change. An outcome of Agenda 21 has been the Kyoto Protocol on the control of emissions of gases that cause global warming.
Issues related to the fluvial and marine environment are of great concern to SAFE TRIP SA. Existing legislation, infrastructure and socioeconomic factors, and mitigation measures are taken into account as appropriate in all services and advice rendered to clients.
