The Electronic Chart developed by SAFE TRIP S.A. uses a PC to display the chart and a GPS for proper accuracy, and is totally dynamic in its conception and feasible to be modified and adapted according to the needs of the user; it may also be linked to AIS facilities.

The Electronic Chart also contains regulatory information on waiting areas, banned zones for overtaking and crossing and manoeuvring areas. The scope in the use of this navigation tool may not be restricted to pilots on board large vessels but to other ships of lesser dimensions like tugboats and barges.
